I download and check the tables, and Vote. After 11 DL, I'm the only one who vote?

That's quite a tough call.
They each have their merits, and each have their downsides.

In my opinion, seeing as these are obviously designed to start people off table building, I would have thought that any additions to the script shoould be commented - In fact, I think that most of the lines in the script should be commented...if you've never scripted a VP table, it would be of help...if you've done them before, you could ignore/delete/leave them without issue.

Just my 2p worth.

Regards,
Dan.

Well, IMO the default table is usually going to be group selected and deleted by anyone who already knows how to create a table. Those who don't know have the tutorial tables that come in the full install package, as well as hundreds of tutorial tables and videos available. If you can't understand something like "score=score+points" then you probably shouldn't be trying to program anything, in any language, with any tool. Future Pinball has a fully commented script for new tables, 883 lines, and would take an average person about a week to read through and actually understand what that does. I find tables with that many comments quite overwhelming, and I would give up the idea on the spot if I didn't know how to do it already because it is way too much information at one time in random order. You could have submitted a table, but, well...

Default table is just used by newbies with low knowledge. For me, the best table in order to learn is a basic table with a few objects and basic events (hit a bumper, hit a drop target, basic bonus count, ...). So, a good old EM with a commented script is for me the ideal. If was a great pleasure for me to know than some guys learn and/or script their tables upon my scripts. If you are a perfect newbie, please, just begin with a simple table, it's more easy for learning the basics...

Les cons ça ose tout. C'est même à ça qu'on les reconnaît.

I agree with Dan,,,, All lines of code should be commented for Newbies.
Not hard to do and very helpful to those that are still trying to figure out the coding.

Visual Pinball 9.0.4 is released now. Seeing what happened here, the whole 'default table' idea didn't work out the way I had hoped it would. There were 3 entries received in addition to the current incumbent table over a month. Of all the people who come to this forum, 24 people cast votes. This site has 12,513 members. This works out to a 1 in 500 person participation rate. Even among active posting members (members who have posted at least once in the past month), it is still 1 out of 20. So the default table wasn't changed. The difference between table 2 and table 3 isn't enough to justify either. However, the good news is, if you want an updated table from Bob5453, you can get it in his thread here: http://www.vpforums....?showtopic=4085 So I wouldn't consider this exercise a total loss.

Final results
1=1
2=12
3=9
4=2

Most of these 12000 & something members (in less then a year!) are just players/users without the minimum talent , skills ,knowledge, time to really understand the differences between a table or another .
I personnally did not vote, but iŽam in awe, following the forums & the fantastic ®evolution of VP/Pinmame, & the incredible work that developers, authors, forum staff & other are doing to keep our hobby going on.
With the little understanding I have in these matters, it seems to me the the new table developed by BOB5453 is a fantastic guide for beginners.

Thanks to all for your efforts.
